Thesis defense complete. Celebratory dinner at Mr. Friendly’s.

Happy kiddo. 2 goals and an assist in Chapin JV’s 8-2 win against Riverside.

Ended the day with cake and cousins.

Started the day with lacrosse.

One down.

On campus.

Took a walk at lunch. So nice to have Saluda Shoals Park a few minutes away.

It’s been 20 years since mom passed away. I miss her every day — even after 20 years. I hate that she never met my kiddos, but know she would have adored them. I’ve thought many times how tough our COVID reality would have been for her… not seeing the grandkids … not gathering for holidays … not hugging … not taking family pictures …

I’m lucky. I have albums full of family pictures that she compiled. I went down that rabbit hole last night and found this shot – I’m guessing it’s from 1978 — and it made me smile.

Working outside this afternoon. Looking up through the trees. Not a cloud in the sky.

I haven’t been to campus much over the last year. And when I am on campus, I don’t usually go to the Carolina Coliseum. But the basement of the Coliseum was home to the journalism school when I was an undergrad. And I spent a bunch of time there. Still feels comfortable…

Some photo shoots are more fun than others.

First lacrosse game of the season.

Picked up some delicious treats for the crew from @blueflourbakery this morning.

My eight favorite shots from 2020. It’s funny how the picture sequence tells a story — from studying in a Starbucks in January to wearing a mask to vote in the most important election in my life.

(I prefer to pick my favorite shots instead of relying on an algorithm to tell me which pictures my followers like.)

Looking forward to 2021.

Happy 16th birthday, Norah.

(Sporting her favorite birthday present… a hat from @blueflourbakery.)
